Technical definition:
‘Packet loss’ is when a bit of internet data fails to reach its destination when travelling from one computer to another. It is typically caused by network congestion and is measured as a percentage of packets of internet data lost out of all packets sent.
What it means for you:
High levels of packet loss can slow downloads, cause websites to buffer and load slowly, cause increased lag in online gaming, and generally poor internet performance.
